This library is the first public library in Luang Prabang and it was renovated in 2004 by the contribution of Japan.
The library is placed under the Ministry of Information and Culture in Vientiane and headed by Mr. Boumkhang from the Information and Cultural Department in Luang Prabang.
The library looks clean inside and it contains a collection of books that are a useful resource for school children and adults. A public school is found on the other side of the street, and during the library's opening hours children are crossing the street between the two.
