The Mahosot Hospital is the primary government hospital in Vientiane. Doctors at this hospital are the most experienced and qualified in Laos and they provide the best international standard medical care.
About 100 doctors and 200 nurses graduate from medical school and university in Laos every year, more than enough to provide medical help all around the country but there is still people heading to get treatment in Nong Khai or Udon in Thailand when they have problems with their health, even though Lao doctors are well equipped to deal with their problems.
