Royal Palace Museum In Luang Prabang

The Royal Palace was built between 1904 and 1909 during the reign of King Sisavangvong. Since then however, the Palace has been renovated and extended. In 1930 King Sisavangvong commissioned a mural for his reception room and erected the roof spire. During the early 1960's soon after the death of his father, Crown Prince Sisavangvatthana extended and installed the mosaic mural in the throne room. March of 1976 the Royal Palace became a museum. The Palace from inside and outside is very beautiful. The general public are allowed to enter the Palace for a small fee but cannot take photographs due to security reasons.
